Mocksville has so many unique features and events. Those of us born and raised here have seen these events transform and grow over the years. From the Boone Festival to the downtown car shows to name a few. Mocksvillians are always willing to come out and have a good time. With that in mind, this Friday night is the annual bed race. This is where a team races a bed with a person riding in the bed on the streets of downtown Mocksville. Your roving reporter has been keeping an eye on one such team that in the past has been known to push the boundaries of bed racing. It is rumored rules had to be put in place because of a past performance by this team of innovative bedracers. I am of course an impartial reporter and only reporting to share a little insight on what to expect this Friday night. There will be many interesting beds and racers at this event, the one I have been watching will be intersting for sure. I am sharing this with the WDSL readers to encourage everyone to come and enjoy a truly local tradition.
